Responsible Use Policy
Last updated: July 30, 2026
LookalikeAlert is designed for defensive brand protection. This policy protects domain owners, researchers, third parties, and the infrastructure the service observes.
Permitted use
- Monitoring a domain or brand you own, manage, represent, or are authorized to protect.
- Reviewing public DNS, registration, certificate, and web signals for legitimate security or brand-protection purposes.
- Documenting suspected impersonation, phishing, or infringement for internal response, hosting-provider reports, registrar reports, or professional legal review.
- Sharing findings with authorized colleagues, advisers, insurers, law enforcement, and relevant service providers on a need-to-know basis.
Prohibited use
- Monitoring a person or organization without a legitimate interest or falsely claiming authority over a brand or domain.
- Harassment, stalking, discrimination, doxxing, intimidation, competitive surveillance, or retaliation.
- Attempting login, credential testing, exploitation, bypassing controls, denial of service, malware delivery, or any intrusive testing.
- Using findings to contact, threaten, or publicly accuse a domain holder without appropriate verification.
- Automated scraping, resale, bulk redistribution, or building an unrelated intelligence database from service output.
- Violating privacy, computer-misuse, intellectual-property, sanctions, export-control, or other applicable laws.
- Interfering with the service, evading limits, sharing credentials, or probing LookalikeAlert without authorization.
Human review is required
Similarity and risk signals can produce false positives. A lookalike name does not by itself prove malicious intent or infringement. Confirm ownership, context, content, and relevant law before escalating a result. Automated findings must not be the sole basis for adverse action against a person or organization.
Reporting and enforcement
Report suspected misuse to info@optimaize.io with enough detail for review. Optimaize may preserve relevant records, investigate, limit scans, remove content, suspend accounts, or report unlawful activity where proportionate and legally permitted. We may request evidence of authorization for a protected domain.
Good-faith security research
This policy does not authorize testing of third-party domains. To report a vulnerability in LookalikeAlert itself, follow our security disclosure process.
