Terms of service
Last updated: July 30, 2026
These terms govern use of LookalikeAlert, a business domain-monitoring service operated by Optimaize (Dutch Chamber of Commerce number 94040338). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and, where applicable, your organization.
1. The service
LookalikeAlert monitors publicly accessible information for domain names that may resemble a customer’s protected domain and presents indicators for review. Results are leads, not definitive findings of fraud, infringement, ownership, or malicious intent. You remain responsible for reviewing results and deciding whether and how to act.
2. Eligibility and authority
You must be legally able to enter into this agreement and authorized to act for any organization or domain you register. You may protect only domains and brands for which you have a legitimate security, brand-protection, or legal interest.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information, protect credentials, use individual accounts where available, and promptly notify us of unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account and for assigning appropriate organization roles.
4. Acceptable use
You must comply with the Responsible Use Policy. You may not use the service to harass, surveil, target, misrepresent, exploit, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to anyone, or to conduct intrusive security testing. We may investigate suspected abuse and suspend access where reasonably necessary.
5. Subscriptions and payment
Paid monitoring is billed at the price and interval shown when you subscribe, currently per protected domain per month. Prices are stated in euros unless shown otherwise and may exclude applicable VAT. Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel before the next renewal; access continues through the paid period unless stated otherwise. Fees already charged are non-refundable except where required by law or explicitly agreed.
6. Changes to price or service
We may improve, replace, limit, or discontinue features. For material adverse changes or price increases affecting an active paid subscription, we will provide reasonable advance notice where practical. You may cancel before a notified change takes effect.
7. Customer data
You retain rights in data you submit. You grant Optimaize the limited rights needed to host, process, scan, analyze, reproduce, and transmit that data to provide and secure the service. Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual property
LookalikeAlert, its software, design, documentation, and branding belong to Optimaize or its licensors. These terms grant a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service during your account term. They do not permit resale, copying, reverse engineering, automated extraction, or creation of a competing dataset except where such restrictions are prohibited by law.
9. Availability and beta features
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted availability, complete coverage, or detection of every lookalike domain. DNS, registry, hosting, and public-web data can be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or unavailable. Preview, trial, or beta features may change or be withdrawn.
10. No legal or security guarantee
The service supports review; it is not legal advice, a managed takedown service, a penetration test, or a guarantee against phishing, impersonation, fraud, loss, or regulatory exposure. Obtain professional advice before making legal allegations or enforcement decisions.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for non-payment, security risk, unlawful use, material breach, or harm to the service or others. Where reasonable, we will give notice and an opportunity to remedy. Provisions that by nature should survive termination remain effective.
12. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential loss, or loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or data. Optimaize’s aggregate liability relating to the service is limited to the fees paid for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not exclude liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for intent or deliberate recklessness.
13. Indemnity
You are responsible for claims arising from your unlawful use of the service, infringement of third-party rights, or breach of your authority regarding a monitored domain, to the extent permitted by law.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Dutch law. The competent courts in the Netherlands have jurisdiction, unless mandatory law requires another forum. Before starting formal proceedings, both parties will try in good faith to resolve the dispute by contacting info@optimaize.io.
15. General
If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer this agreement without our consent; we may transfer it as part of a reorganization, financing, or sale of the service. These terms and incorporated policies form the agreement regarding the service.
